Found this great looking 73 year old course and decided to see if I could tee it up. The starter said if I was ready to go now, for $30 w/cart I could play the Back 9 @ 3,018yds / Par 36 or wait 1.5 hrs for the Front 9, no brainer. The course yardage is on the short side at 6,009yds / 129 / 69.8 down to 4,841yds / 119 / 68.5 with a Par 36/37 on this mostly flat layout. Great conditions from the laser flat tee boxes, full groomed grass on fairway, 1st cut and even the rough was inviting. The greens were on the smaller size but being firm, smooth and fast made sticking them and staying on, very tough. Each green seem to have only one (1) sand trap but they were in great shape and sand to match. The Back 9 #10 starts out with a friendly 325yd Par 4 with framed trees well placed at 200-250yds out. The #13 @ 531yds is the sweeping left Hcp 2 Par 5 that play to a small green with a RH front sand trap. The #14 may be listed as a 128yd Par 3 but with the green 60' above the tee box, I needed a 2 extra club selection and don't miss left or its long gone. The #15 tee box is elevated for this 324yd Par 4 BUT, the green is like #14, above the fairway 60'. The #16 is a 209yd Par 3 from the elevated tee to a very small round green with sand traps on the right side. The #18 is a 504yd Par 5 that has a narrow fairway leading to a small round green with LH/RH front traps and OB left. Enjoyed the quick 1.5hr round and shooting 41 w/14 putts as those small firm greens were very hard to hold. Great track with the best conditions throughout the course. Looking forward to returning and playing the Front 9.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line:I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level, Expensive and worth it
Condition of Course, Food/ Bar facilities, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Pro Shop, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
